5 stagesThere are 5 stages to your sleep cycle. Find out about them below!
Stages 1 and 2: Your body begins to relax as you fall into a deep sleep. Stages 3 and 4: You are now sleeping deeply! Stage 5: This stage is called REM or Rapid Eye Movement. Your eyes are moving rapidly beneath your eyelids during this stage. This is also the stage in which you have dreams either nice or scary. Your brain is acting like it's awake but your body is stuck so you don't act out your dreams. (Royston, 2009) Create your very own sleep routine!
This is very important and will help you get a good nights sleep. Do not include things such as watching TV, using the computer, or eating right before bed because your mind and body will be too busy and not relaxed enough for sleep! (Royston, 2009) |
