| Classroom Implications- Inform parents when a student is performing poorly, and address the issue of sleep deprivation
-Do not give homework assignments that require students to stay up late, and end practices and school activities early if at all possible -Avoid earlier start times in secondary schools than in middle schools Advice to give to parents- Help students have the same bedtime and wake time seven days a week
- Help them create a calming bedtime routine, with dimmed lights -Wake them up without an alarm -If at an age where they nap, keep it at a max of half an hour - Eliminate conditions that can disrupt sleep such as noise, lights, stress and television right before bedtime or in the bedroom, do not let them consume caffeine close to bedtime, and avoid eating meals such as dinner, late at night. -When children watch TV before bedtime, there is a greater increase in them sleeping less or having difficulty falling asleep. (Bergin & Bergin, 2012) Ways you can help your students get good sleep
